After years of blogging and writing in various places, I’m excited to introduce my new website, MattEvans.tech. This project has been a long time coming, and I hope it will grow and evolve over the years as a hub for all my writing, interests, and projects.
What’s New
This website has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with a focus on simplicity and usability. The design is intentionally clean and easy on the eyes, with a straightforward navigation bar to keep things simple. The homepage features my primary blog, where I share my thoughts on all things tech.
A major addition to the site is my second blog, Unplugged, which is dedicated to stepping away from technology and exploring everything else that excites me. This is where I’ll share thoughts on movies, tv show, a favorite pizza place, and anything else that doesn’t involve a screen or a gadget. You can learn more about Unplugged in a separate post.
Another exciting addition is the gear page, which is a bit of a work in progress but will eventually include everything I use in my daily life. From my office setup to my everyday carry items, it’s going to be a space for sharing the tools and products that help me stay productive and organized.
About the Site
This site is built on Squarespace, and while this isn’t a sponsored post, I want to share why I chose it. Over the years, I’ve worked with many platforms, including WordPress, Headless CMS, and custom-built websites. Each has its strengths, but for this project, I wanted something simple, easy to manage, and flexible enough to meet my needs.
Squarespace fit the bill perfectly, even though I wasn’t completely sold on it at first. What won me over was its ability to host multiple blogs seamlessly, which many other platforms don’t offer—or at least not without significant effort. For someone as busy as I am, this ease of use is invaluable. Squarespace allows me to focus on creating content rather than getting bogged down in the technical details.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning for MattEvans.tech. In the coming months, I hope to fill the site with regular updates, insights, and reflections. While I’m not committing to a strict posting schedule, I plan to update both blogs regularly, sharing tech-focused content on the main blog and more personal, unplugged topics in the second.
Looking ahead, I’d also love to bring in guest writers to add new perspectives and ideas to the site. Collaboration has always been something I’ve valued, and it would be exciting to see this space grow into a more dynamic community. Additionally, I’ve got a few other projects brewing that I can’t wait to share as they take shape.
I’m excited about this new chapter and look forward to seeing where it takes me. I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Feel free to leave a comment or reach out directly—I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new site. Welcome to MattEvans.tech, and thank you for being part of it!
